Seminar In Investigative Medicine with Brian Annex, MD

The next Seminar In Investigative Medicine lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 in the Goldman International Conference Center of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. Our guest speaker will be Brian Annex, MD, George A. Beller/Lantheus Medical Imaging Distinguished Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, professor of Medicine and Biomedical Engineering, chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at University of Virginia. Dr. Annex will be presenting, “Translational Research in Angiogenesis/Peripheral Arterial Disease: A Vascular Biology Approach Toward New Therapies”. He will be hosted by Peter Berger, MD.

Goal: The overall goal for the RSC (Regularly Scheduled Conference) is to inform physicians of new developments in understanding basic mechanisms of disease and novel therapeutics that capitalize on a deeper appreciation of disease pathophysiology.

Program Objectives: Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Identify new developments in understanding mechanisms of disease.
  • Integrate new investigational results with current diagnostic and treatment protocols.
  • Judge the potential importance for current best practices of treatment regimes based on new translational studies

Target Audience: Researchers, Students, Hospital-based physicians, Housestaff, Nurses, and Community physicians.

CME ACCREDITATION: North Shore-LIJ Health System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
